Contemporary Global Studies Minor
The Contemporary Global Studies minor is an elective open to all Michigan State University undergraduate students. In many cases, courses used for the minor can also count toward a student's major (with approval from the student's department or college), making it a flexible option to add to a degree.
This minor is designed for students who want to better understand how globalization shapes everyday life, from local communities to global systems. Students explore current global issues through an interdisciplinary lens and learn practical skills to research, analyze, and document the forces shaping today’s world. With faculty approval, abroad courses and internship experiences can also count toward the minor, giving students hands‑on, real‑world learning opportunities.
